Basketball Recap: Fort Atkinson Takes a Loss

Fort Atkinson and Monona Grove squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Fort Atkinson had to settle for second. They took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monona Grove Silver Eagles. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blackhawks came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Silver Eagles are ranked 89th).

Fort Atkinson's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Monona Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Fort Atkinson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monona Grove, they have already played their next contest, a 44-43 victory against Elkhorn on the 8th.
