Football Recap: Orange County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Orange County blew Albemarle out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Albemarle got their revenge. The Fighting Hornets fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 33-31. Surprisingly, this marked the Fighting Hornets' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

When it comes to explaining why Orange County lost, don't look at Judah Brownley. Despite the final result, he rushed for 35 yards and one score, and also threw for 71 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes. The Fighting Hornets also got a significant boost from Hayden Dello, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.

A big part of Albemarle's win came down to the chemistry between Joel Schiavone and his top target Amarion Hill. Schiavone picked up 55 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns while Hill threw for 170 yards and four TDs on only 14 passes.

Orange County's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Albemarle, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Orange County will square off against Fluvanna County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Albemarle, they will face off against Louisa County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
