Softball Recap: Mills Comes Up Short

After flying high against Half Moon Bay last Wednesday, Mills came back down to earth. The Vikings fell 11-7 to the Capuchino Mustangs on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Bailey Beauchemin was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Gina Hillman was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Mills' defeat dropped their record down to 10-3-1. As for Capuchino, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mills will host Gunn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Capuchino, they will welcome Aragon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
