Basketball Game Preview: Lexington Catholic Knights vs. Madison Southern Eagles

The Lexington Catholic Knights will head out to face off against the Madison Southern Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lexington Catholic is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Lexington Catholic ended up a good deal behind Rowan County and lost 64-46. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Vikings are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, Madison Southern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 62-43 bruising from Rockcastle County. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 19 points.

Madison Southern's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Lexington Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 6-19.

Lexington Catholic ended up a good deal behind Madison Southern in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 45-28. Can Lexington Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
