Soccer Recap: Nekoosa Takes a Loss

Nekoosa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 7-0 to the Amherst Falcons. While losing is never fun, Nekoosa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Amherst are ranked 101st).

Nekoosa's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Amherst, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nekoosa will welcome Coulee Region Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nekoosa will be up against Coulee Region Christian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 7.5 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Amherst, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gresham Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gresham Community's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
