Recap: Kaufman Lions vs. Mabank Panthers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Anna, The Kaufman Lions were happy to have found some success on Friday. They breezed by Mabank on the road to the tune of 47-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Kaufman also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Kaufman was led to victory by Kylevon Morrow and Elijah Rose. Morrow rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, while Rose rushed for 70 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Aljour Miles ii also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.
Kaufman's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Mabank, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kaufman will challenge Sulphur Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur Springs will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Mabank, they will head out on the road to face off against Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Community comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
