Estes Park proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Heritage Christian Eagles 3-2. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Estes Park had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 13-25, 25-19, 25-22, 15-12.

Olivia Boynton paced Estes Park's offense, picking up 12 kills. Boynton were helped by Hanna Cousineau and Charlotte O'Sullivan-Blea, who contributed ten assists each. Finally, Vanessa Gonzales kept Estes Park's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

When it comes to explaining why Heritage Christian lost, don't look at Abby Leveillee. Despite the final result, she had 19 digs and four aces. Leveillee is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played. Claire Swiers also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Estes Park has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Heritage Christian, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Estes Park is set to face off against their familiar foe Flatirons Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Heritage Christian will square off against rival Clear Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
