Volleyball Game Preview: York Dukes vs. Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs

After both having extra time off, the York Dukes and the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. York is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, York came up short against Lincoln-Way East and fell 2-0.

While York ultimately came up short, they really made Lincoln-Way East work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 27-25.

Meanwhile, Riverside-Brookfield posted their closest win since September 13th on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Timothy Christian, sneaking past 2-1. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Riverside-Brookfield who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 21-25, 25-20.

Riverside-Brookfield's win bumped their record up to 20-14. As for York, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-12.

York beat Riverside-Brookfield 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Do the Dukes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
