With a playoff win on the line, Donovan Catholic rose to the challenge on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Our Lady of Mercy Academy Villagers a 10-0 shutout. The Griffins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 contests by six runs or more this season.

Donovan Catholic got a massive performance out of Isabella Cino, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gia Gordon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Donovan Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive games.

Donovan Catholic's win bumped their record up to 24-1. As for Our Lady of Mercy Academy, they moved to 8-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Donovan Catholic nor the Villagers have any future games scheduled.
