Basketball Recap: J.H. Rose Comes Up Short on the Road Against C.B. Aycock + How To Watch

J.H. Rose had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

J.H. Rose's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kahrin Highsmith, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Highsmith has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more blocks the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alaya Clemons, who posted 15 points.

C.B. Aycock's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alonna Frederick led the charge by dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave Frederick a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Burton, who earned eight points in addition to nine assists and five steals.

The victory got C.B. Aycock back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, J.H. Rose will head out to square off against Hunt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for C.B. Aycock, they will host Eastern Wayne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
