J.H. Rose had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

J.H. Rose's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kahrin Highsmith, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Highsmith has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more blocks the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alaya Clemons, who posted 15 points.

C.B. Aycock's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alonna Frederick led the charge by dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave Frederick a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Burton, who earned eight points in addition to nine assists and five steals.
