Softball Recap: Temecula Valley Beats Bonsall for Their Third Straight Win

Temecula Valley put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bonsall Legionnaires a 13-0 shutout. Fans of the Golden Bears have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Kay Peterson looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Avery DePauw, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Light, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Temecula Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .840. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Temecula Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Temecula Valley will venture away from home to square off against Valley Center at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Bonsall, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Kearny at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
