Basketball Game Preview: Martinsville Bluestreaks vs. Dugger Union Bulldogs

Martinsville is on a four-game streak of home losses, Dugger Union a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Martinsville Bluestreaks will host the Dugger Union Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Martinsville is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Dieterich on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Martinsville took a blow against Dieterich, falling 72-38. The Bluestreaks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.

Meanwhile, Dugger Union was beaten by Red Hill 75-37 on Saturday.

Martinsville will need to focus on slowing down Elijah Eads, one of several Dugger Union players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerry Pearison, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Martinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Dugger Union, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
