Basketball Recap: Wichita Defenders HomeSchool Takes a Loss

Wichita Defenders HomeSchool lost against Kansas City East Christian Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wichita Defenders HomeSchool Defenders fell 49-40 to the Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions. The Defenders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kansas City East Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maddox Carrillo led the charge by putting up 11 points along with six assists and five boards. Carrillo also put up a block, which washis first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ryder Cartwright, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Wichita Defenders HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Wichita Defenders HomeSchool will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sunrise Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-61 loss against Fort Osage on the 27th.
