Jabari Parker is fourth junior to win Gatorade honor

Parker joins James, Oden and Knight after pacing Simeon to third straight 4A title.

Jabari Parker of
Simeon (Chicago, Ill.) became only the fourth junior this week to be named Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year. The other junior winners were LeBron James, Greg Oden and Brandon Knight.
His award was presented by former NBA star Alonzo Mourning.
The 6-foot-8, 220--pounder led 33-1 Simeon to its third consecutive Class 4A state title by averaging an impressive 19.5 points, 8.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 3.4 blocks and 1.5 steals.
Parker carries a 3.63 weighted GPA.
He was also selected to the
MaxPreps first-team All-American team that came out Friday.
