Baseball Recap: Warren Takes a Loss

Warren managed to slip by St. Marys the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Warren came up short against St. Marys on Saturday, falling 11-3. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flying Dutch apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Warren saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Snyder, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Warren always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Warren and nudges their season record down to 0-2. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.0 runs this season. As for St. Marys, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Warren will be playing at home against Meadville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be Warren's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for St. Marys, they will head out on the road to face off against Karns City at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Karns City will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something St. Marys surely won't give up without a fight.
