Volleyball Recap: Baxter Springs Comes Up Short

Baxter Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Neodesha Blue Streaks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Baxter Springs was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Sadie Miller and Kadence Underhill, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Sam Sheffer and her 20 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Baxter Springs' loss dropped their record down to 20-13. As for Neodesha, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.

Baxter Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 0-0 tie against Southeast on the 11th. As for Neodesha, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Parsons on the 11th.
