Baseball Preview: Everett Vikings vs. DeWitt Panthers        
        
		
            Everett is 0-3 against DeWitt since April of 2019 but things could change  on Monday. The Vikings will host the Panthers  at 4:00  p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Everett will roll into the  game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any  runs  on Monday, then bounced right back against Sexton  on Thursday. The Vikings blew past the Big Reds 16-7. The  win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Big Reds: they've now won eight in a row.
 Tony Williams made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  pitched 1.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Williams was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double.
 In other batting news, Everett let  Nolan Prevo and  Evan Flynn run wild. Prevo  went 4-for-5 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  runs, while  Flynn  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Fernando Solis, who  went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Meanwhile, DeWitt won against Holt  on Monday with 15  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Thursday. Everything went the Panthers' way against Waverly as they made off with  a  15-7 victory. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Panthers.
 The  win  got Everett back to even at 1-1. As for DeWitt, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the  victory, which was their fifth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Everett might still be hurting after the  21-2 loss they got from DeWitt  when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. Can the Vikings avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
