Softball Recap: Dodson Wins Going Away Against Peabody

After only one run in their last matchup, Dodson made sure to put some runs up on the board against Peabody on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Warhorses with a sharp 10-3 victory. Considering the Panthers have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Browning was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddi Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The win snapped Dodson's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-13 record. As for Peabody, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dodson will host Downsville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Peabody, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Avoyelles Charter at 5:30 p.m. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.83 runs per game on average), something the Warhorses will no doubt try to take advantage of.
