Basketball Recap: University Takes a Loss

University was the 47-44 winner over Gonzaga Prep when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The University Titans fell 72-65 to the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Bullpups are ranked 31st).

University's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-7. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Gonzaga Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will head out to take on Cheney at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. University is facing Cheney at the right time seeing as Cheney is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Gonzaga Prep, they will face off against Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
