Recap: Port Huron Red Hawks vs. Dakota Cougars

The Port Huron Red Hawks came into Tuesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Dakota on Tuesday and snuck past 52-49. The win was all the more spectacular given Port Huron's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Dakota is ranked 26th).

Dakota lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Samone Andrews, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Andrews is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Gabby Brooks-Foster, who scored 13 points along with three steals.

Port Huron's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Dakota, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-3.
