Volleyball Game Preview: Logan Chieftains vs. Anthony Wayne Generals

After both having extra time off, the Logan Chieftains and the Anthony Wayne Generals will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Logan comes in on five and Anthony Wayne on 19.

Logan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Westerville South 3-2.

Meanwhile, Anthony Wayne got the win against Clay on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Anthony Wayne not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Clay between 15 and 16 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-15.

Logan better focus on containing Jessie Kennelly and Alayna Rieger as the pair were huge in Anthony Wayne's win. Kennelly had 12 digs and two aces, while Rieger had 21 assists. Rieger is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Anthony Wayne was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matchups.

Logan's record is now 19-6. As for Anthony Wayne, their record now sits at 23-1.

Logan might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Anthony Wayne in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Chieftains avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
