Basketball Recap: Centennial Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Centennial couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 77-70 to the Oak Ridge Pioneers on Wednesday.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremy Felix, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 21 points. The game was Felix's 19th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Vic Jackson, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 14 points and four blocks.

It was another big night for Jalen Reece, who went 16-for-19 en route to 38 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists for Oak Ridge. Those 38 points gave Reece a new career-high. Jamier Jones was another key player, going 11-for-14 to rack up 23 points and seven boards.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Oak Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oak Ridge, they will take on Wellington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Wellington's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
