Woodgrove dropped down to 6-3 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to the Loudoun County Captains. The game was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Wolverines couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, Woodgrove had strong showings from Joey Ridolfi, who rushed for 121 yards and one TD, and Colton Dabkowski, who rushed for 34 yards and a pair of scores.

As for Loudoun County, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.4 points over those games.

Montez Dyson produced another solid effort rushing for 123 yards and one touchdown. Dyson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 118 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelton Brown, who threw for 182 yards and a pair of TDs.

Coming up, Woodgrove will head out to square off against Loudoun Valley at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Wolverines' defense better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 40.2 points per game this season. As for Loudoun County, they will host Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Captains will need to watch out since the Pride have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
