Softball Recap: Conrad Comes Up Short

Conrad dropped down to 7-5 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 15-0 to the Shepherd Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 back in April.

As for Shepherd, their record is now 16-0. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 14 games by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Shepherd's part, Krista Dunn made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Dunn has posted since back in May of 2025. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI.

In other batting news, Shepherd let Brooke Werth and Charity Dunn run wild. Werth went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs, while Dunn got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Dunn is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Charlotte White, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.

Conrad has already played their next matchup, a 12-2 victory against Thompson Falls on the 15th. As for Shepherd, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 22-11 win against Hardin on the 11th.
