Basketball Recap: Heide Trask Comes Up Short

Heide Trask played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the East Columbus Gators 58-17. The loss continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Gators: they've now lost five in a row.

East Columbus was led to victory by Malia Graham and Malayah Hines. Graham dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards, while Hines went 9 for 18 en route to 21 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hines has scored at least a third of East Columbus' points. Rylie Graham was another key player, going 6 of 8 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Heide Trask's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for East Columbus, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing West Columbus the next time they take the court. East Columbus will host West Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Heide Trask will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
