Basketball Recap: Dodge County's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Dodge County was the 78-60 winner over East Laurens when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dodge County Indians fell 53-42 to the East Laurens Falcons on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Falcons are ranked 72nd).

East Laurens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tylan Snead led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. The contest was Snead's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelvion King, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

The loss snapped Dodge County's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-8 record. As for East Laurens, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Dodge County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-52 victory against Vidalia on the 18th. As for East Laurens, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-49 win against Treutlen on the 18th.
