Softball Recap: Marsh Valley Comes Up Short

While it was Marsh Valley who put the first runs on the board on Wednesday, it was Bear Lake who put up more. The Eagles fell just short of the Bears by a score of 10-9. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Lydia Howell put in work no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Mya Anderson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Lisa Peck was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI.

Marsh Valley's record is now 2-12. As for Bear Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Marsh Valley will challenge North Fremont at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. As for Bear Lake, they will host West Side at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
