Soccer Game Preview: McGehee vs. Willow + Official Tickets

The McGehee Hawks will head out to face off against the Willow Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a Battle of the Birds when McGehee faced off against St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday. The Hawks came up short against the Falcons, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, McGehee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while St. Thomas Aquinas are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Willow waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their defense stepped up to hand the Broncos a 1-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Willow were the better team in the second half.

Willow's win bumped their record up to 8-10-1. As for McGehee, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-2.

McGehee skirted past Willow 1-0 when the teams last played back in January of 2025. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
