Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pequea Valley). Everything went their way against the Lancaster Mennonite Blazers on Monday as they made off with a 24-1 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Lauren Colblentz made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Colblentz was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Kayleigh Scheafer was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were her first of the season. Jazzy Quartey was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Pequea Valley's win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11. As for Lancaster Mennonite, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
Looking ahead, Pequea Valley will take on Biglerville at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Lancaster Mennonite does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
