Soccer Recap: Longview's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Longview barely beat Royse City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Longview Lobos' defense stepped up to hand the Royse City Bulldogs a 3-0 shutout on Friday. Given the Lobos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 311th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Longview's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Royse City, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Longview will host Forney at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Royse City, they will challenge Rockwall-Heath at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
