Basketball Game Preview: Princeton Vikings vs. Oak Hills Highlanders

Princeton is 9-1 against Oak Hills since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Princeton Vikings will look to defend their home court against the Oak Hills Highlanders at 1:45 p.m. Princeton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Oak Hills likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, everything went Princeton's way against Lakota West as Princeton made off with a 70-49 victory. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Princeton found their leader in freshman Erin Thomas, who went 12 for 15 en route to 22 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mari Gerton, who posted 15 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Oak Hills slipped by Hamilton 27-26 on Wednesday. The 27-point effort marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Princeton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Oak Hills, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

Princeton strolled past Oak Hills when the teams last played on January 11th by a score of 43-29. Will Princeton repeat their success, or does Oak Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
