Football Game Preview: Innovation Bulls vs. Oviedo Lions

After each having a week off, the Innovation Bulls and the Oviedo Lions will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Innovation 14.2, Oviedo 1.8) so any points scored will be well earned.

Innovation's offense might be in the hot seat on Monday considering what happened against Cypress Creek last Tuesday. They came up short against the Bears, falling 22-0. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Bears are ranked 126th).

Meanwhile, Oviedo put another one in the bag last Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Lake Mary a 13-0 shutout.

Oviedo's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. The heavy lifting was done by EMMA GOODNUGH and KIARA HERNANDEZ, who racked up all four sacks between them. HERNANDEZ is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season.

Innovation's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Oviedo, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
