Basketball Recap: Bayou Academy Comes Up Short

Bayou Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 60-45 bruising from the Rossville Christian Academy Wolves. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 77-43 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rossville Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fred Motley, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Motley's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Zach Portwood was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Bayou Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Rossville Christian Academy, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 16-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bayou Academy will head out to face off against Starkville Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rossville Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Memphis Home Education Association at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
