Volleyball Recap: Madison-Ridgeland Academy Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

There's no place like home for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the St. Joseph Catholic Bruins on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bruins, too.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-19, 25-8.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macy Gladden, who had ten digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Gladden a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Eatherly, who had 12 assists and five aces.

They weren't the only good server: Madison-Ridgeland Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for St. Joseph Catholic, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Catholic is set to take on their familiar foe Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Bruins their first taste of in-conference action this season.
