Preview: Douglas Eagles vs. Sardis Lions
The Douglas Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Sardis Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After soaring to 67 points the game before, Douglas were a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 58-19 loss at the hands of Kate Duncan Smith DAR.
Meanwhile, Sardis unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Southside on the road and fell 60-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sardis has scored all season.
Douglas' defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.8 points per game. As for Sardis, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.
