Basketball Game Preview: Evergreen Cougars vs. Eagle Valley Devils

The Evergreen Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Eagle Valley Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Evergreen is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Ponderosa just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 16-7 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Eagle Valley came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with an 80-54 victory. The Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Eagle Valley pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Evergreen, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
