Softball Recap: Fort Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fort Fairfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-3 to the Central Aroostook Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 18-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Fort Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Central Aroostook, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Fort Fairfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Katahdin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Central Aroostook will take on rival Southern Aroostook at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Warriors a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
