The Avalon Black Knights will challenge the Southern Maryland Christian Academy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Avalon took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They strolled past Clinton Grace Christian with points to spare, taking the game 76-62.

Toran Ayana produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 33 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Jevon Hawkins, who posted 22 points.
Avalon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Southern Maryland Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South on Tuesday as they won 65-51. With that victory, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Southern Maryland Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Avalon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Timothy Patton Jr, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 18 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron McGlone, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 18 points and five assists.
Southern Maryland Christian Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Avalon, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's matchup: Avalon has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 34.4% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Southern Maryland Christian Academy, though, as they've only made 24.1% of their three-pointers this season. Given Avalon's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.
