Baseball Game Preview: Mission Viejo Diablos vs. Tesoro Titans

Mission Viejo and Tesoro are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. Mission Viejo will welcome Tesoro at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Mission Viejo nor Tesoro posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Tuesday, Mission Viejo came up short against Pacifica and fell 5-2.

Mission Viejo got a good showing from Aiden Chapuis, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Chapuis has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Logan Marsee made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Tesoro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Etiwanda.

Tesoro's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Mission Viejo, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Mission Viejo beat Tesoro 7-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will Mission Viejo repeat their success, or does Tesoro has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
