Friendship Tech Prep Academy piles up the points against Parkside

On Thursday, the Friendship Tech Prep Academy Titans faced the Parkside Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Friendship Tech Prep Academy simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Parkside 76-48 at home. Friendship Tech Prep Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 28 points or more this season.

Friendship Tech Prep Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Bumpass led the charge by scoring 18 points along with four steals. Bumpass has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Daniel Bumpass, who scored 18 points along with three steals.

Despite the loss, Parkside saw an underclassman step up: Kasson James scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Semaj Marshall, who scored ten points.

The victory was the third in a row for Friendship Tech Prep Academy, bringing their record for this year to 9-4. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.67 points. As for Parkside, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Friendship Tech Prep Academy will challenge Glenelg Country at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Glenelg Country will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 92nd in Maryland, while Friendship Tech Prep Academy is ranked fifth in District of Columbia). As for Parkside, they will head out on the road to take on Southern at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Southern is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53 points per game.
