Volleyball Recap: Cherryville Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cherryville can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Cornerstone Charter Cardinals on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Ironmen have suffered since September 2nd.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-7, 25-9.

Cherryville's offense was headlined by Kate Mulvey and Kennedy Weathers, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Emily Allen and her eight assists.

Cornerstone Charter was led to victory by Aubrey Kimball and Ashley Belland. Kimball had 12 digs and five assists, while Belland had ten digs and five aces. Belland is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.

Cherryville's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Cornerstone Charter, the victory (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 25-4.

Cherryville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cornerstone Charter, they will welcome Highland Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
