Softball Recap: Warren Takes Down Hemet in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Warren walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Hemet Bulldogs on Wednesday as they made off with an 8-1 victory. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Bella Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

The win was the sixth in a row for Warren, bringing their record up to 19-12. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hemet, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-13 record this season.

Warren will face off against El Toro at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Hemet does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
