King's Christian hasn't had much luck against Gloucester County Christian recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the King's Christian Knights will jump right back in to play the Gloucester County Christian Conquerors at 12:00 p.m.
King's Christian saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 35-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Knights came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 15th in New Jersey, while the Falcons are ranked 420th in Pennsylvania).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Angelina Alicea, who posted four points and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Lillian Logan, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Gloucester County Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Camden County Vo-Tech two weeks ago, taking the game 38-26. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Conquerors.
King's Christian better keep an eye on Angela Karamisakis. She was instrumental in Gloucester County Christian's win, putting up 16 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nina Mason, who put up ten points.
Gloucester County Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.6 points. As for King's Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: King's Christian has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 21.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Gloucester County Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
King's Christian was taken down by Gloucester County Christian 50-18 in their previous meeting back in February. Can King's Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
