Volleyball Recap: Eagle Valley Devils vs. Delta Panthers
After flying high against Rifle last Thursday, Eagle Valley came back down to earth. The Eagle Valley Devils fell just short of the Delta Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Devils of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2015.
Eagle Valley actually scored more points across those five sets (108-106), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-22, 15-12.
Despite the loss, Eagle Valley still got an impressive performance from Lizzy Martin, who had 22 digs.
Eagle Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Delta, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-5.
Eagle Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win vs. Summit on the 26th. Delta has also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Glenwood Springs on the 24th.
