Volleyball Preview: Smyrna Bulldogs vs. Cookeville Cavaliers
Smyrna is 0-7 against Cookeville since September of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Cavaliers at 2:00 p.m. Smyrna will be strutting in after a win while Cookeville will be coming in after a loss.
Smyrna proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Wilson Central 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matches in a row.
Meanwhile, Cookeville entered their matchup against Siegel on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Stars by a score of 3-2.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Cookeville sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 24-26, 26-16, 22-25, 15-12.
Smyrna will have to keep a close watch on Ella Hardin and Chloe Sexton, a pair of players who had a big impact on Cookeville's prior game.
