Softball Recap: Alcorn Central Comes Up Short

Alcorn Central fell victim to Booneville and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-0 to the Booneville Blue Devils, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Bears have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Alcorn Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Booneville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Alcorn Central will take on Belmont at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belmont's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Alcorn Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Booneville, they will challenge North Pontotoc at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday.
