After low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Lawrence County brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They really took it to the Haleyville Lions for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-12 win. The Red Devils not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 42-0).

Eli Mitchell went supernova, rushing for 147 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Those 147 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavian Jones, who rushed for 145 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lawrence County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 310 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lawrence County moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Haleyville, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lawrence County will take on East Limestone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Haleyville, they will face off against Dora at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
