Baseball Recap: Monmouth Regional Find Success

Monmouth Regional hadn't done well against Wall Township recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Falcons had just enough and edged out the Crimson Knights 3-1. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 7-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Monmouth Regional is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wall Township, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Looking ahead, Monmouth Regional will face off against Brick Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wall Township, they will be playing at home against Point Pleasant Beach at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
