Volleyball Game Preview: Lutheran Lions vs. Palmer Ridge Bears

The Lutheran Lions will challenge the Palmer Ridge Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lutheran will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Lutheran made easy work of Air Academy and carried off a 3-0 win.

Lutheran's got stronger as the match went on, holding Air Academy to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-15, 25-12.

Kate Wilson and Madeline Miller were among the main playmakers for Lutheran as the former had ten digs and three aces and the latter had eight digs and two assists. Wilson is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Meanwhile, Palmer Ridge came up short against Cheyenne Mountain on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Bears have struggled against the Red-Tailed Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cheyenne Mountain scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17, 25-21.

Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Palmer Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Lutheran came out on top in a nail-biter against Palmer Ridge when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
