Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Ocean Springs Greyhounds walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Panthers a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. Give Ocean Springs' defense some credit: that's the team's tenth straight shutout.
Ocean Springs' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those six contests. As for Petal, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10-1.
Ocean Springs will be playing in front of their home fans against Brandon at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brandon will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Ocean Springs surely won't give up without a fight. Petal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
